A guided experience of making. We slow down with sacred art or Scripture, let it speak first, and then shape our response with our own hands.
SACRED ART
Create as a way of praying.
about sacred art
You don't need to be an artist.
Each session moves through a simple rhythm: a time of silence and gazing, a guided reflection on the image, and then unhurried space to make, create, and respond.
There’s no right way to do it and nothing to perform. The art isn’t the point – it’s the by-product of having actually stopped to look and to listen to God.
Meet Chrissy Lynn
Your Sacred Art Workshop Facilitator & Guide
Chrissy Lynn holds a Master’s in Spiritual Formation & Direction and is a certified Spiritual Director. She teaches others how to use their imagination and their senses as pathways to prayer.
Her passion is spiritual formation and bearing witness to people who felt stuck in their heads finally meet God with their hearts. She believes creativity is a muscle that everyone possesses, and it’s a beautiful way of paying attention to the God who’s already paying attention to you.
TWO WAYS TO EXPERIENCE IT
Join a Gathering or Host Your Own
Whether you join us for an evening or bring the experience to your own group, you’ll be invited to slow down, make something with your hands, and let it become prayer.
Join a Gathering
Sacred Art can be held as a public workshop – a small group gathered in a studio or shared space, working alongside one another in guided silence.
These evenings are intimate by design, usually capped at a small group size, with materials and a specific piece of sacred art or Scripture anchoring the experience.
Host a Gathering
Book a Sacred Art Workshop for your small group gathering, church retreat, ministry staff meeting, or team-building exercise.
We bring all the materials to your space and offer guided reflection. You’ll bring the people and the space. Hosts receive full support — a ready-to-send toolkit (invite letter, social and text copy) arrives once you book.

Have a Question?
What happens in a Sacred Art Session?
Each session moves through the same unhurried rhythm: a time of silence and gazing, a guided reflection on the sacred art or Scripture in front of you, and then open space to create and respond with your hands. We open in prayer, work mostly in silence, and close by naming — gently, if at all — what surfaced. There’s no critique of what is created.
Do I need any art experience?
None at all. This isn’t a painting class (although you might learn a tip or two) — it’s a prayer practice that happens to use your hands. There’s no right way to do it. The art isn’t the point; it’s simply evidence of a heart and mind that can be expressed visually.
Is this art therapy?
What do I need to bring or prepare?
For a public gathering, everything is provided — just bring yourself and an unhurried hour. If you’re hosting Sacred Art for your group, Chrissy Lynn brings all the materials; you just need a table, a few chairs, and space for your group to spread out.
What does it cost?
Hosted sessions for your group will vary based on the specific theme. Typically, the per-person cost ranges from $15 to $30. Soul Trellis is a nonprofit ministry and relies on donor support to offset the full cost of travel, teaching, supplies, etc. Special events open to the public vary in cost.
What does hosting involve?
Less than you’d think — I bring the guided reflection and all materials. You bring your people and the space, and receive a full toolkit to help you invite them.
Who provides the materials if I'm hosting?
Materials are included in what we bring to a hosted gathering. We are a donor-supported ministry; however, we ask that each person share in the cost of materials.
